Up to 6% of your taxes? In 2026 it’s possible—your 2% can change more than you think

Tax return season is rarely the most popular time of year. However, among all the numbers and forms lies an opportunity that truly makes sense—allocating 2% of your paid taxes.

This is a portion of the tax you have already paid, which you get to decide how to use. It is not an extra expense, but an opportunity to support organizations whose work often has a significant social impact.

At INOVATO, we have long supported innovation, education, and active individuals who want to move things forward. That is why we would like to highlight several organizations and projects that we believe are worth supporting.

Organizations providing tangible help

Svetielko nádeje (Little Light of Hope)

They help children with oncological diseases and their families. Your 2% will enable them to provide professional assistance, treatment, and hospice care.

Every contribution means more hope for young patients and their loved ones in challenging life situations.

Dobrý pastier (Good Shepherd)

This facility in Kláštor pod Znievom provides help to the homeless, seniors, and people in need. Many of them are looking for a way back to a dignified life, work, and stability.

Your 2% can help them get a second chance and start over.

Cesty k podnikaniu (Paths to Entrepreneurship)

A project that helps young people discover their potential and develop key competencies for the 21st century.

Every 2% you donate will support future entrepreneurs and active young people who will create value and jobs. This topic is naturally close to us at INOVATO.

Cesta von (Way Out)

This organization helps families in generational poverty find work and stability. It supports children from excluded communities to give them a better chance at education and a dignified life.

Their work is long-term and systematic—focused on real change, not just short-term aid.

Skutočná škola (Real School)

A project supporting education that makes sense. It focuses on developing children’s strengths and active learning.

Your 2% can contribute to a modern education system that prepares children for the reality of today’s world.

Rozbehni sa (Get Started)

They help young people develop entrepreneurship and prepare them for a business future. More than 20,000 young people have already completed the program.

Your 2% can support future generations of creative and courageous people.

H2GP

This project introduces high school students to the world of hydrogen-powered cars and technical innovation. Young people gain practical experience, learn to collaborate, and work on real-world projects.

Your support can help develop technical talent and sustainable solutions for the future.

Mám dron (I Have a Drone)

An initiative supporting the drone community and educating hobby pilots. They organize professional events and conferences and promote the safe use of drones.

Here, too, your 2% can contribute to the development of a modern technological community.

How to allocate 2% of your taxes

The process is simple. If you file your own tax return, fill out the relevant section directly in the form. If your employer performs your annual tax reconciliation, you fill out a separate declaration and deliver it to the tax office, usually by the end of April, according to the Slovensko.sk portal.

An individual can allocate 2%, or potentially 3%, if they have completed at least 40 hours of volunteer work in the given year and have a certificate to prove it. The minimum allocation amount is 3 euros.
Legal entities can allocate 1% or 2% depending on whether they meet specific conditions.

H2GP 2025 Chemnitz World Final

New in 2026: Up to 6%

The year 2026 brings an interesting update—you can allocate more than just 2%. Previously, we could only donate 2% to a non-profit organization. Now, if you meet the conditions, you can:

  • allocate 2% to one parent and 2% to the other parent,
  • and simultaneously 2% (or 3% for volunteers) to a non-profit organization.

This means that together you can allocate up to 6% (or up to 7% if using the 3% volunteer option) of your paid taxes!

This new feature provides an opportunity not only to support a good cause in the public sector but also to help your loved ones who deserve it—such as parents who are pension recipients.

What to look out for with this option

To take advantage of this new opportunity, a few simple conditions apply:

  • Taxes must be duly paid and the return filed within the set deadlines.
  • The parent to whom you want to allocate 2% must be a pension recipient (old-age, disability, or service pension after reaching retirement age).
  • In the case of an annual tax reconciliation, you must provide the parent’s exact identification details (name, surname, birth number) in the declaration.

This way, you can divide your percentages to help not only others but also those closest to you.

A decision that makes sense

At INOVATO, we believe that change begins with concrete steps. Allocating 2% of your taxes is one of them. It is a simple way to support health, education, innovation, or help people in difficult situations. The decision only takes a few minutes. For someone else, however, it can mean a new start, a chance, or hope.
