CASE STUDY of the kooperativa.sk portal

A web portal with a fully responsive design with more visually engaging content and intuitive control focused on UX.

A modern, visually appealing and fully responsive portal solution through which the client showcases their product portfolio and communicates with their customers.

The motivation for creating a new portal/website for Kooperativa was to make the portal more pleasant to work and navigate for the end client, to create a website with appealing, nice and pleasant interactive pages, to speed up the access to information. For existing clients, to simplify as much as possible the path to solving problems.

The biggest problems and limitations of the original site that were perceived as the main motivation for the change:

• the site was already outdated in several ways,
• the insurance product pages contained a lot of long text in which the user would quickly get lost,
• a lot of text without visual spice, the pages had a minimum of images and were monotonous,
• the site needed to be changed from a UX perspective so that the user immediately knew where to click to find the information they needed 
• it was necessary to make it easier for users to find information about insurance, to report claims and to find the necessary documents.

At the beginning of the project, a detailed analysis/functional specification of the work was developed, complemented by design proposal, UI kit development and wireframes.

The project and its scope was broken down into smaller units and deliverables, implementation was done in monthly sprints with a clear deliverable. Regular meetings were held with the client on the status of the project, the work that has been done and the work to follow. 

The implementation and technology implementation was coordinated by SCR’s techlead, with the project being based on modern open-source technologies without any vendor-lock-in. Among the technologies used we select: PHP, Laravel, OctoberCMS, MySQL, ElesticSearch, CSS, NuxtJs, VueJs, Cypress to provide automated tests. 

From our activities:

• during the project implementation we cooperated with external partners, e.g. in the field of SEO, security/penetration tests, etc., 
• we implemented integrations to profesia.sk, social networks, customer’s CRM via API, WebChat, customer’s call center,
• we provided testing and quality control throughout the project,
• we provided the customer with 2 rounds of acceptance testing and promptly incorporated comments and corrected any errors,
• we ensured UX testing by external users on a pilot version of the website, subsequent evaluation and implementation of changes,
• we tested the entire website including impressions for GoogleAnalytics 4,
• the content of the web portal is fully under the customer’s control thanks to OctoberCMS, for which we prepared the user manual and implemented user training,
• we ensured a controlled and smooth launch of the project without errors, which was appreciated by great satisfaction on the part of the customer.

The result of the one-year project is a new web portal with a fully responsive design with visually more engaging content and intuitive control focused on UX (user experience). Insurance in a few clicks, clearer information about products, the use of smart solutions, increased page loading speed, simple content management and many other positive outcomes of the project predispose the web portal kooperativa.sk to success on the insurance market and to make Kooperativa’s clients feel in their ” digital branch” as best as possible.
